What I admired in both instances was a commitment to the truth, your ability to cut through the bullshit and call a spade a spade, beyond political lines. Behind Peterson’s attempt to pre-emptively “heal the soul” of the young Western men from the scourges of feminism, atheism, postcolonialism and ecology (i.e. the vaguely defined “wokeness”), one could easily foresee the empty promises of an already outdated theosophy. Žižek's convoluted rhetoric was just a pretext for Hegelian posturing. In both instances, you and Moller-Nielsen’s showcased what I consider top-tier journalism. As you are the only masochist brave enough to write critically about the deluge of self-indulging books produced by prominent conservative political figures, it is a quality I keep finding in your work. Even recently (February 2026), I was happy to see in your short article on the latest internet Patrick Bateman impersonation[ Clavicular Shows How Masculinity Destroys Men](https://www.currentaffairs.org/news/clavicular-shows-how-masculinity-destroys-men) that you were never shy of providing opinions on new cultural trends. Why do I write to you all of this, you may ask. Because I  wonder why you haven’t written such an article about Hasan Piker, as his name is circulating among the Democratic Party apparatchiks today (April 2026). I did read your exclusive interview[ Hasan Piker on Streaming, Zohran Mamdani, and the Future of Socialism](https://www.currentaffairs.org/news/hasan-piker-on-streaming-zohran-mamdani-and-the-future-of-socialism). Of all the sometimes-weirdly-homoerotic-sanitizing pieces usually manufactured by his PR agency, it was one the least bad. Piker performed his daily “Israel is evil; Democrats need to follow my lead if they want to ever win again” routine, providing good insights on Bernie and AOC’s questionable stance regarding Israel’s impact on American politics. Didn’t really insult anyone. Kept it cool. The first time I encountered Piker’s name was about a week after you published the transcript of your first encounter, during what Forbes labeled the[ Dog Shock Collar](https://www.forbes.com/sites/danidiplacido/2025/10/08/hasan-pikers-dog-shock-collar-controversy-explained/) controversy. Urged by some of my students who mentioned his name, I tried to familiarize myself with Piker’s content over the following months. He personally struck me as an influencer more than an astute political thinker: mostly concerned by his public image, clout driven (deliberately polarizing), widely misinformed on practically every topic (USSR’s history), and doing everything in his power to avoid adversarial conversations with other political pundits. I was even more impressed by his capacity to garner the support of other prominent American leftwing political influencers every time he is “clipped out of context”. Take the Shock Collar incident, admittedly innocuous in the grand scheme of things. Incapable of deterring his critics and convince the public he did not shock his dog, Piker resorted to call the whole thing an Israeli attempt to smear him and his stance on genocide. This, in a nutshell, tells you pretty much everything you need to know about how he engages critically with what surrounds him. Or so I thought. And then, as I exhaustively tried to keep up with the weekly if not daily controversies and explain to my students why they would learn more by reading books, a question started to linger in my head : in a world filled with great thinkers like Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes and now Clavicular, is Hasan Piker the intellectual American socialists deserve? I know the reflexive defense mechanisms (I’ve seen it with my eyes!), as the true believers (my students) see their idol being questioned: “How dare you talk about Hasan Piker when there is so much shit going around!” Honestly, I’m a nobody, a simple college teacher of 33 years old. In the American political environment, I would consider myself close to Bernie Sander’s “socialism”. An anti-establishment enthusiast, pragmatic enough to collaborate with people who don’t always share my values, like Mamdani. Resolutely, if not obsessively anti-Trump. I’m not even American. But I do sincerely believe that Piker’s brand is toxic for American socialism and will eventually lead American socialists to an impasse. I’m sure you’ve met your fair share of criticisms over the years, but I bet nobody ever criticized you for your lack of curiosity. I don’t expect you to agree with the following thoughts. I just wanted to share with you the plea I made to my students, explain why I believe Piker might not be the enlightened thinker he desperately tries to be, and why socialist thought in America might face challenges if it is besmirched by him. Socialism and wealth I’ll start with the worst argument, often highlighted to showcase the shallowness of Piker’s detractors. As a socialist, Piker’s considerable and ostentatious wealth comes off as a contradiction. You’ve addressed this argument in your article with Alex Skopic[ How to Slander a Humanitarian Mission](https://www.currentaffairs.org/news/how-to-slander-a-humanitarian-mission). The “champagne socialist” topic is not really an argument, more like a distraction as Trump’s administration sets its eye on invading yet again another county. And if the topic were really Cuba, Iran, or Israel’s crazy justice systems, I could understand the exasperation. But since this essay is exclusively on Piker, it dissolves itself. The argument, obviously, is not that a socialist ought not to wear fancy clothes. It is also not that socialists should hate wealth (Marx’s idea of abundance is still unmatched, despite E. Klein’s best efforts to replace it). Simply put, the argument is that Piker pretends to embody Marxists' values (equality, redistribution, etc.) while gleefully profiteering from all the predatory capitalist structures that any socialist would want to abolish. As someone who never had a boss beside his own uncle (when his job was being a friendly and non-criminal version of Andrew Tate), Piker never experienced firsthand what most people would call “economic struggle”. Whereas ordinary citizens in America live “paycheck to paycheck”, as Senator Sanders rightfully repeats, Piker, like many sons and daughters of (white) well-off (millionaire) families, conceptualizes poverty as the incapacity to live as he pleases. In other words, Piker is not against what György Lukács conceptualized in *Reification and the Consciousness of the Proletariat*, i.e. the all-pervading commodification of the world. On the contrary: for Piker, economic distress is nothing but the inability to participate in the all-commodification of things. Hence his obsession with attending Hollywood parties, the constant winks to media personalities, etc. He is not a spokesman for socialist ideals; he’s the perfect front cover of *No Logo*. Cuba, the No Kings protests, Zohran Mamdani insider parties are opportunities for him to leverage his status to internet plebes (my students…) on Amazon more than engaging in any muckraking. Marx’s framework, in Althusser jargon, suggests one’s mentality (class consciousness) is the byproduct of his experience and surroundings – the infrastructure. Piker’s incessant display of luxurious attire is not grotesque for its lack of taste but because it betrays his complete remoteness from what he purports to support. But what about his ideas? Doesn’t Piker advocate love, charity and decency? As did the Catholic Church in its worst moments. When Martin Luther wrote his thesis on the venal nature of the papacy, he did not refrain himself on the grounds that the Pope advocated ideas shared by Jesus. On the contrary, it was because he saw with his own eyes the contrast between what was said in the *Gospels* and what was done by the Church that he decided to bring down the fossilized institution. I don’t see why Piker would be an exception. One can sense Piker’s lack of familiarity with day-to-day struggle as he tends to idealize – if not mythologize – the “real” blue-collar worker as some kind Gramscian superman who managed to reconcile the “manual” and the “intellectual”. While Marxist theorist Marcuse acknowledged (*Counterrevolution and Revolt*) the reactionary tendencies of the working class, Piker tends to infantilize those who fall prey to the wrong kind of populism as mere *victims* of bad propaganda, devoid of any real agency. We saw the same pattern in Canada, when union leaders refused to endorse the NPD leadership for being out of touch with the base (a challenge the brilliant Avi Lewis will have to face). Not that understanding the perspective of another class is impossible. *La Condition ouvrière* (1951) by Simone Weil manages to achieve this, without endorsing crime (“micro-looting”) as a theory of Justice. But getting rid of your class prejudice requires at least humility and self-effacement. Piker lacks both qualities. When Piker finally gets out of his curated environment and meets a dignified member of the working class he venerates, he acts as if he’s seeing some precious exotic animal from the zoo. “These people are the best”, he will say, “they are of a different *kind*”, unless he’s faced with someone who doesn’t share his worldview and doesn’t embrace Marxist rhetoric (see his conversations with taxi drivers). Genocide as a shield Piker’s recent rise in influence can be attributed to his consistent messaging on the war between Israel and Palestine,[ as more than 50% Americans now distrust their traditional ally](https://news.gallup.com/poll/702440/israelis-no-longer-ahead-americans-middle-east-sympathies.aspx). It takes courage to endorse unpopular opinions, especially in America, where any criticism of Netanyahu’s far-right government is conflated with antisemitism, and where having the reputation of being an antisemite (before Fuentes-Owens-Tucker’s trifecta era) is career ending. Piker has been one of the few to question Israel’s motives (whose political genius might be that it never fails to transform a real crisis into an opportunity). As many reports ([Haberman et Swan](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/07/us/politics/trump-iran-war.html)) are now saying Netanyahu is the one who convinced Trump to participate in the already international infamy that is the war against Iran, it is not surprising to see different media value his (Piker’s) input on international affairs. Even the dumbest strategist could see what the Democratic Party would gain by adopting a stronger anti-war message, a missed opportunity Piker, among others, is rightfully calling out as a blunder.   The problem, as I see it, is at least two-fold. First, Piker’s use of the word genocide is not really enrooted in international law, it seems to have a deeper and more personal meaning to him. While it is true the international consensus today is that some of Israel’s politicians waged a genocide against the Palestinian people, it was not always so. In fact, the first months following the war, practically all the same specialists hesitated to use the term for the obvious reason that Israel was in its right to defend itself and retaliate against a terrorist attack and an enemy (Hamas) that is not bothered by international law. To make things worst, the laws of proportionality codified in the rules of war are practically not binding if your enemy doesn’t follow them, giving Israel more leeway. By contrast, Piker’s stance was to call Israel genocidal as we didn’t even ascertain how many Israeli civilians had been captured, on October 8^(th). Like the grandiloquent Finkelstein, he first tried to defend his opinion on shaky legal grounds[\[1\]](https://d.docs.live.net/ce357bd59b751a42/Desktop/%C3%89criture/When%20the%20left%20goes%20south.docx#_ftn1), only to resort, in the end, to murky moral claims: the real victims of the October 7^(th) tragedy are the young Hamas militants born and raised in the largest open prison who took arms and butchered civilians. Genocide here has nothing to do with Israel military operations, a policy. It is not being presented by Piker as an unforgivable crime following a despicable crime, but rather as the logical conclusion of a political sin: Israel's existence as a state. In his mind, genocide is at the core of Israel’s ethos, the hidden truth beneath its ethnic supremacist foundation, the fantasy Israel settlers and leaders – all aspiring Columbus – never dreamed to achieve. Now that Israel cannot hide its true intentions, history with all its different contradictory testimonies is not so complex anymore, Piker wants us to believe. One must look at the customary quotes to realize genocidal intent had *always been there*, since inception, and that the October 7^(th) is in fact a blessing as it provides us the irrefutable proof that genocide was always the end goal, the key to this country’s blasphemous history. Herzl’s unglamorous sentences? The Nakba? Jabotinsky’s lazy metaphors? The occupied territories? The Wall? The illegal settlements?  Repulsive tragedies that show Israel’s immemorial intent to butcher what they see as outdated barbarians. The beautiful nuance written in *The Message* of Ta-Nehisi Coates doesn’t have its place here. The same racism that incentivized islamophobics to ask Representative Ilhan Omar to talk about any Islam-adjacent news is now being recycled by Piker and some progressives against all Jews (and non-Jews) as a purity test. The dogs of retribution have been unleashed and bark “Go back to Brooklyn!”.  You either believe –  like Amanda Gelender in her article[ Yes, all Jews](https://agelender.substack.com/p/yes-all-jews) – that Zionists are all bloodthirsty murderers who should publicly disavow Israel and ask for repentance, or you don’t have the right to speak. Do you believe in Israel’s right to self-determination? Then you must support genocide! Piker uses the tragedy of the genocide as an all-encompassing justification to dispense himself from providing a sensible diplomatic solution to one of the most tragic geopolitical events of the 21st century. He is right, in the sense that there is evidence Israel is indeed committing a genocide. But even a blind fool can haphazardly reach a valid conclusion in the darkest night. We mock Alex Jones and Joe Rogan when they claim to be Nostradamus as they awkwardly stumble their way to the right conclusion. Why shouldn’t we show the same probity with Piker? The second problem I see with Piker’s usage of the term genocide is that he uses it as magical incantation against all forms of criticisms. Moral Grandstanding. In *Scars of War, Wounds of Peace*, historian Ben-Ami mentions how the generational trauma of the Holocaust was/still is instrumentalized by Israeli politicians when events (negotiations, etc.) don’t go as planned. Piker, who, to my very limited knowledge, never lived any traumas (being ratioed on X doesn’t count), is not different. He uses his new pedigree as the genocidal forecaster in chief to attack everyone’s credibility and defend his own. The maxim goes as follows: *He who has ever condemn the genocide cannot say or do wrong*. Pressed, Piker will constantly use this rhetorical trick: move the goalpost, retreat to his impenetrable fortress of anti-genocide “activism”, suggest those pernicious inquisitors who dare ask him questions are malevolent pro-genocide actors or Mossad agents. I find it both tiring and vulgar, as genocide here has nothing to with the plight of the Palestinian people and is clearly being weaponized (throughout 2025-2026) as a distraction to garner clicks and likes. Ask Piker why he refused to condemn the rapes that happened on October 7th and he will accuse you of supporting genocide. Question his judgement as he gives a platform to an alleged Houthi pirate who published clear antisemitic imagery (Jews being impaled) only to get his opinion about the manga *One Piece* (because piracy is so cool): you are pro-genocide. Raise  eyebrows as Piker suggests Anne Frank would have been a Houthi terrorist? You support the genocide. Doubt Piker’s characterization of terrorist propaganda as mere “musical videos”? Again: you are pro-genocide. Question why he only recently learned about the Western Wall after saying he had studied Israel-Palestine years prior to the war? You are a moron who doesn’t want to engage in a meaningful conversation about civil rights and… well of course, you are pro-genocide. Stay aghast as he teams up with other influencers on a livestream and doxes people who don’t share his stance? You’ve guessed it: you are being unfair, you are fixated on the past, you are part of the problem, you are taking things out of context, and… \*drum rolls\*… you are pro-genocide. The list goes on and on. Compounded with a hero-complex (Piker sometimes wears bullet vest in public because he fears he and his family are targets – from Mossad, from his endless and invisible enemies) and you find yourself with a kerfuffle of self-indulgent unfalsifiable claims that will get you attacked, if not bullied, for suggesting the earth is not flat. This is not socialism, nor Marxism. It’s not resistance, nor anti-colonialism. It’s not serious. It's a spectacle, it's the enshittification of geopolitics being instrumentalized to promote a personal brand, and I don’t see why socialists and progressives should close their eyes and pretend to not see it. Imperialism for thee but not for me Piker claims to be an admirer of Marxist literature (I’ve seen no indication he knows anything about socialist or Marxist literature) mostly because he endorses anti-imperialism as a concept to explain America’s foreign wars and interventions. I don’t see why or how anyone could disagree with your basic premise. The issue I have has to do with how self-labelled American progressives and socialists (often tankies – Piker non-excluded) are now changing this principle to “the United States is the *only* country to be self-interested”. With drastic consequences. In the case of Piker (and other “free thinkers” like the Stalinist Ryan Grimm, the “Putinist” Tucker Carlson and the libertarian living contradiction that is Glenn Greenwald – who has endorsed Carlson as a legitimate candidate to the next elections) it allows him to embrace the propaganda of other Empires, old and new rivals of the American behemoth: Russia and China. Dear Nathan, have you ever had the opportunity to read *De la révolution à la révolte* by Jacques Ellul? It is a remarkably astute book on the many meanings of the word “revolution”. Ellul, reading Fanon, Mao and others, concluded Marxist-Leninist thought (itself a bastardized version of what Marx himself refused to call “Marxism”) was no longer  anchored in economics (class warfare, the destruction of capitalism) , but had  instead co-opted liberal-bourgeois phraseology of “national freedom” in the guise of the new “self-determination” rhetoric in vogue. One can see this departure from basic Marxist tenants in Mao’s ascension to power, during the May Thirtieth Movement (1925) and the (meagre) ceasefire of Xi’an (1936), as he relied increasingly not on the proletariat but on the peasants and conceived tactical alliances with the reactionary nationalist forces of Chiang Kai-shek (with whom Stalin preferred to negotiate) to fight against the colonial foreigners. Gaining and withholding power at all costs became the primary goal, as the evanescent-but-for-Marx-*sine*\-*qua*\-*non* dream of an international revolution faded away (and got buried under Stalin). Quickly what you had were not leaders who believed their purpose was to stay faithful to Marx and Engels’ commitments to a post-division-of-labor-stateless-world, but rather to engage ruthlessly in power politics to achieve national independence[\[2\]](https://d.docs.live.net/ce357bd59b751a42/Desktop/%C3%89criture/When%20the%20left%20goes%20south.docx#_ftn2). And as they solidified their authority by creating what we call in political literature totalitarian states, they quickly fought for their own Monroe Doctrine, either by violent means (invading, annexing, occupying and terrorizing, in the case of Russia, who also used “antifascism” as a mean to solidify its hinterland) or by less violent means (poverty trap with Chinese characteristics, but it is no coincidence Nixon managed to befriend Mao during the Vietnam War). Today both empires don’t even hide their ambitions, as Putin dreams of a halcyon past and as China exports its cheap labor to its own Global South[\[3\]](https://d.docs.live.net/ce357bd59b751a42/Desktop/%C3%89criture/When%20the%20left%20goes%20south.docx#_ftn3). Why do I write this? Mostly because Piker, like other American socialists today (and a few bots… and my students…), either ignores it or pretends to ignore it. In the case of Piker, as I can’t really bring myself to find him particularly cultivated, I really don’t know which one it is. Piker, in pure alignment with his America-is-the-most-bad-country-on-earth, will tokenize China’s complex history to suggest America would be better off if it does embrace Maoism. In the 50s through the 90s, famous French intellectuals (Sartre, Kristeva, Barthes, etc.) enamored with a distorted image China, became posters for not so kind “useful idiot” expression[\[4\]](https://d.docs.live.net/ce357bd59b751a42/Desktop/%C3%89criture/When%20the%20left%20goes%20south.docx#_ftn4). Tucker Carlson’s trip to Russia will be remembered for the same reasons. It is hard to look at Piker (literally) cosplaying as Mao and not give him the epithet. Piker wants us to believe America is so backward China is some kind of Eldorado in comparison[\[5\]](https://d.docs.live.net/ce357bd59b751a42/Desktop/%C3%89criture/When%20the%20left%20goes%20south.docx#_ftn5). In his (allegedly) paid trip by the government in China, Piker and his friends pretended to be amazed as they were being used as subjects for quack medicine. (The same happened in his paid trip to Cuba, where Piker claimed doctors had solved Alzheimer.) The millions of dead during the Cultural revolution? Mere “excess” to be discounted. The authoritarian nature of the regime ? When you think about it, all countries are  authoritarian because they all enforce laws, so China is as bad as let’s say… Canada. Tiananmen Square? Don’t be bothered by the cops, it’s a beautiful place, you should visit! The persecution of Uyghur? Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from experienced players. I’ve been a day-one player with a solid primary account, but I recently decided to pick up a second "side" account. There are some sites in which you can buy accounts but I recommend just buying them off trading discord servers (make sure they are trusted) Most of the accounts with a lot of primos, in your case are hacked. Though the chance of being banned is low I would go for a safer account anyway Eldorado.gg is safe from my experience but that also depends on the seller, make sure they have good reviews and a lot of them. A few days ago I bought Cherax standard (25$) , and I've also bought an account from Eldorado, so that I don't have to use the menu on my main account which is around ten years old. After installing the menu and logging into the burner account, when I opened the game, I received a message saying that "unexpected files have been found in the install directory...may result in being banned" and when i tried going online, I got a message saying that I've been banned from GTA online permanently.(see image) I logged out, and logged in on my main account, and I received a pop-up message (before launching the game) again saying that "unexpected files have been found in the install directory...may result in being banned". I still joined online (figured that once i got the pop-up, doesn't matter if I launch the game or not) and hapily, I was not banned on my main. Also, just to make sure, I restarted social club launcher, logged in again, and this time, no more pop-up message on my main account. I've continued playing since then. My questions are : \- is this an isolated incident, or other players have experienced this as well ? \- is this caused by the injection of Cherax, or maybe the burner account was already banned (stupidly, I didn't log in to check if the account is good, I just trusted the good rating of the seller) \- if the burner account was just banned from the start, and Cherax was not the cause, why did I receive the same pop-up message with the "unexpected files found" on my main account also ? \- is my main account at risk ? The reason im concerned is because I bought it off eldorado and the seller has no reviews but was selling the accounts for very cheap despite the accounts having multiple limited 5 stars on them and multiple signature weapons. I bought it, it comes with email access and everything. I've changed the password on the email along with attached all my own stuff to the account. But obviously I don't want to buy anything or spend time on this account if it's just going to get reclaimed. Just feels a bit strange considering it was only £15 and has so much on it. The interesting part is the scale. Eldorado covers around **7,915 acres** in a district that historically gets talked about as a **2M oz gold area**. Recent drilling at Eldorado West has had some pretty strong intercepts too: * **288m @ 2.01 g/t gold from surface** * **114.3m @ 3.09 g/t gold** * **118.87m @ 3.28 g/t gold** * **254.51m @ 1.56 g/t gold**, apparently an 800m step-out The step out is probably the bit that caught my attention most. If mineralization is continuing that far from the original discovery area, there could be a much bigger system here than the market is currently pricing in. They also just raised **C$4.5M**, so they should have funding behind the next drill campaign across Eldorado West and the newly acquired Eldorado East. Obviously it’s still an early-stage junior miner, so there’s real risk here. Drill results, dilution, permitting, liquidity, and gold prices all matter. But as far as speculative gold explorers go, this is one I’m starting to keep on watch. Sorry guys but these miners intrest me alot!

Recently took my 1985 Eldorado for a service yesterday he’s said it was all good besides a couple of sensors 23 and 52 from scan and said was still good to drive I get home and notice coolant leaking heavy then today I go to check if maybe radiator cap was loose then I see one of the hoses from the coolant reservoir free hanging the one in red and not the one connected to the radiator, is this meant to be free hanging. Each icon has its own condition, making restoration similar to medical treatment, with each case requiring a different diagnosis. So, my guess on the both, is that lego is waiting for them to drop a new insanity of a car, and then make a set. lotus doesn't have that much more stock cars that have a speed champions potential to me. However, since lego is in for F1, i think they could do a lotus 88, which is the one that got banned for being too good. for honda, i think we all first thought of the civic, maybe even in a wrc version. I would like to add the NSX could be interesting as well. regarding the sauber, maybe the C9 that won le mans in 1989. but that may be a bit too niche. Alpine has a great potential. They could do the WEC hypercar. In fact, I think lego is missing a big opportunity on WEC/F1 double packs for brands like Alpine, Ferrari, aston martin, mclaren, and even cadillac. but, we'll have the chance to speak about it later. Back to alpine, outside of race cars, they also have the A110, which is a cute car, that was, iirc, sometime used in rally. iconic model, may be a sellout. Williams is only a racing group, so, unless lego wants to get deeper into historical f1, i don't think we'll see them again, or at least not that soon. Haas is a sponsor for the racing team, but they manufacture industries machinery tools. it has nothing to do with speed champions, but a technic or, something similar set, could be interesting. The whole f1 apex gp movie car is solely isolated to the movie, that is a single set partnership to me. cars has great potential. Lego already did some 4+ kids sets previously, featuring a lot of iconics characters, but for the speed champion lineup, i'm thinking, doc hudson, the dinoco king, franscesco bernouilli, and maybe jackson storm. While more back to the future sets could be cool, i know we won't get any other delorean. The DMC is the only car the manufacturer was able to produce before the brand collapsed and closed its doors. The lego f1 academy car, is to me, lego self promotion. While i do appreciate that they put the projector on women in racing, i don't think lego sets would sell that well, sadly. lego did it because it's their team. land rover is part of the jaguar group. I don't know that much about it, but i don't think we will see them again, outside of one suv/4x4 sided with a roadsters double packs. While redbull has great potential, lego only have a contract with the f1 teams this far. they would need to sign up a contract with the redbull brand itself, to make others cars like the supervan, and the mini cooper. However, i wouldn't be against a remake of the Vcarb f1 car, since the 2025 set had the 2024 livery, and was obsolete before being even on the shelves. BMW is really slept upon. they do have a nice racing history and iconics models. a double pack with an x drive, and a zr4 roadster, or a m3 racing car, or an e46. And if we even want to add more video games license, the nfs most wanted bmw would be a sellout too, imo. toyota is also a bit underexploited too. Well, maybe even a lot. i think we first need to speak about the sports and GR (gazoo racing) formerly tgr (toyota gazoo racing ) series. .\_. Because toyota LOVE motorsports. To continue to expand upon the WEC, they're engaged both in hypercar and gt3. even thought, the gt3 grid maybe be sneaky, cause it's actually under the Lexus badge. Lexus being the toyota luxury sports cars brand. the car on the grid is the lexus rfc, and the hypercar, that already won the first race of the WEC this year, is the toyota tr10 hybrid. i get that it may not be as iconic as a ferrari 499. But once again, toyota has a great potential, with the ts050 in wec, in lmp1, that won le mans in 2018, 2019, and 2020. the toyota gt one could also be fun to have. toyota is also used in initial D, with the toyota ae86, but i doubt lego would stretch this far. in WRV, i don't recall lego doing the toyota Yaris, which won the wrc from 2018 to 2021. but, my personnal calls, outside of the supra which we already got twice now, would be a double pack, with for the offroader either a toyota tacoma, or a toyota hylux. Those are indestructible. Top gear tried to destroy one and failed. The only thing that could stop lego from making those models is that they're widely used in wars, in africa and middle east. Some much so that there's even a toyota war. For the hero car of the double pack, toyta announced last year the successors of the famous lexus LFA (which could also be a nice set to get ), the toyota gr gt, and the gr gt3. if i remember correctly, the gr gt3 is also supposed to be the cover car of the new forza horizon 6 game, that will be release pretty soon. I think they would be absolutely incredible to have. Mini has been fully exploited, to me. Maybe a modern cooper could cut it, but that's not really a sport car. Althought, maybe the twin hayabusa mini truck that can drift while in a wheelie, which is absolute madness, could be something lego may be interested in. Nissan also has an interesting potential. if we keep the same offroader/sports car strategy, i think a nissan patrol and nissan silvia set could be cool. i don't know much about nissan in others motorsports, but they did the nissan deltawing, that they tried in endurance racing. This things looks exactly as its sounds. Jaguar doesn't sounds speed champions to me, and i was surprised to learn they were involved into electric racing series. but not just that, in the 50s, they raced into endurance, with the D type. but, not only this, they also won the 1988 le mans, with the XJR-9, the one with the with, purple and yellow livery. Otherwise, we all know the jaguar E type, that would be a real sellout, and, just for the fun of it, i would love if lego release a type 00 set. Also, the whole XJ lineup has some strong potential. For bugatti, we had to sit and wait for such a long time, that now, the old 6 wide chiron is screaming for a remake. They already did remake of 6 wides cars, like for the f40, so, maybe we can hope for that one too. But, for me, there's other things to tackle : they did the bolide in technic, twice, so, maybe we would see it in speed champions too. the tourbillon may also be adapted. So far, they didn't made the veyron, not even in technic, if i can remember corectly, so, that's something to watch for. but the divo seems like an obvious move for me. The other one that would be an elegant surprise, would be a speed champions la voiture noire. that would be unexpected. I think corvette got correctly exploited already. Maybe we could expect some c8, or gt3 car, but that's not something i'll bet on. For chevrolet, i think lego may release a second 8 wide nascar car. But, toyota also is engaged into nascar, so, that may not be a chevrolet. What i'm a bit disappointed from lego using the chevrolet brand is that there's such iconics models, like the impala, the eldorado, the camaro, the el camino, etc ... those classics models seems to only be bound to icons sets line up, like they did for the corvette C1, and the camaro 1969. but hell, a impala 1959 would look cool as hell in a city. Chevrolet is also really present in the low rider community. That's a big part of custom cars, but, i don't know the position of lego on this. But a bouncing lowrider eldorado, that will be incredible. all in all, chevrolet is underexploited, but that may be because it doesn't rally fit the speed champions theme, except for the corvettes. On audi, i'm also hoping for a remake of the r8. The 6 wide studs was the r8 lms ultra, so technically not the r8, which could lego do the r8 remake. However, cada already sell the model, and i don't remember lego and cada overlapping on cars models. BUT, that's not enough for me to lose hope, we'll get an 8 wide r8. However, while the audi quattro are now done, i think a v8 quattro in dtm, could be the next thing to do for lego. Maybe also a speed champions version of the e-tron dakar rs they did in technic before. globally, i think lego should do dakars cars. I don't have that much to add on aston-martin. we got their F1 car, their gt3 car ( the vantage) their supercar, the valkyrie, all there's left to build is the wec version. Maybe the lagonda. Lamborghini is releasing the fenomeno (if they havent' already), so that's an expected move from lego. Also, outside of the Urus, lamborghini have another SUV, much more angular, the lm 002. that's double pack material. Many of the iconic dodge has already been made. However, there still is material. first, the dodge viper. a classic, and i'm a bit surprised that lego didn't made one. And second, the dodge charger daytona 1969. This one is the model of the Dinoco king n43 in cars, so, maybe if lego does the cars movie cars, we won't have it in a more classical set. While for mercedes there's a ton of models that could be done, there's quite a few that seems obvious but are still waiting. First, the mercedes/mclaren slr. one of the first supercar, and a mythic collab between mclaren and mercedes. Second the mercedes clk gtr. Third the mercedes 300SL. that's like, one of the most iconic mercedes model, and they haven't done it yet. And don't argue that it's not a racing car. it is. Regarding mclaren, the lineup seems pretty complete. the porsche serie seems to lack also quite a few obvious things to me. First, the 959 paris dakar, that actually won the rally. That's a legendary car, that lego's missing on. Then, if we continue on the SUV, the cayenne has been a commercial success for porsche. So did the boxster, that is the roadster porsche. to stay in rally, the porsche 911 safari also looks pretty cool, and the 959, not in the paris dakar version, but road version also is an icon. On ford, except for the current gt3 cars, i don't thik we have to get anything else from lego speed champions for now. Almost same on ferrari. Maybe the monza SP1 or SP2, but that's a bit of a niche car, and i personnaly don't like the sp1. However, lego id a technic daytona sp3. And i'm still waiting for it's speed champions version. Now that's done, we're going to discuss the licenses, and other further speculations that i have. for formula 1, i think lego could do a interesting line up. May be a bad idea, however. What i think could be nice is a collab between ferrari, f1, and lego, to make the most iconic era f1 cars. Why with ferrari ? because ferrari has been in f1 since the beginning without missing a single one. They're f1. enzo didn't wanted to do road cars. he wanted to just have the scuderia, and had to make road cars to be able to financially sustain the scuderia. So, since lego is double downing in f1, maybe historical ferrari f1 could be cool. to stay on f1, there's been two new team this year : audi, replacing sauber, and cadillac. While we got an audi f1 set, the cadillac one is still missing. Althgought the f1 team and audi itself are two separated entities, the motherhouse still have it's authority over the f1 team i think, and since they already had a partnership with lego, the f1 team also engaged with them. Which explain why we don't have a cadillac yet. maybe the negociations are harsh, maybe cadillac just said no, maybe they don't have the time to bother around building bricks. However, if cadillac gets into a partnership, we may have the WEC car, the escalade, and other iconics models like the coupé de ville. I'll like to expand further upon the hoonicorn v1. the partnership means that the whole hoonigan serie may be available. That means all gymkhana cars. the hoonicorn v2, the hoonitruck, the ford fiestas, the subaru brat, the hoonipigasus, etc ... But it also means something else. Ken block, wans't only the one who made the gymkhana, but also found DC shoes. this is out of the bounds of speed champions, but since lego does nike sets, i could also expect to see DC shoes sets. Wich could be acoompanied with some skateboarders, since it was originally a sketeboards shoes brand. Next up, i would like to talk abit about fast and furious movies. lego seems to be weirdly unwilling to step out of the first two movies. maybe they have to negociate the rights movie by movie. if that's so, i hope they get the tokyo drift one. For two main reasons : first the mazda brand would be contracted, that means, of course, the rx7, but also the mx5, and, most importantly, the 787b , winner of le mans 1991 with a rotary engine (first and only rotary engine car to win le mans ). netx, still in tokyo drift, there's the mistubishi evo 9, the car of seans. The mitsubishi lancer has a great history in rally, but only the 6 first versions, if i remember well. This evo in tokyo drift is a lancia evo 7. Maybe both could be cool. there's also the nissan silvia s15 "mona lisa", that's crashed early in the movie, and the DK car, being a nissan fairylady 733 350z. which is something i missed in my nissan lists, but here we are. i think it's a bit unfair to speak about mitsubishi, but not subaru. First, with the hoonigan license, we may get the last gymkhane subaru brat driven by travis pastrana. but what subara is interesting for, is the subaru impreza, and it's rally history, and mostly, it's blue and yellow stars livery. To continue upon rally, and group b, i think, we nee a lancia line up. the rally 037, the delta s4, and mostly, the gorgeous stratos hf gr4. This is because i'm french, but i think our 3 main constructors may also have many things to bring to speed champion. I already talked about renault with alpine. but when speaking about renault, without speaking about alpine, and or, the f1 program ( a fernando alonso speed champion set with the winning renault f1, like they did for icon could be cool), there's still the renault 5 maxi turbo, that was one of the group b machine. Peugeot already got a partnership with lego, since they did the former WEC car, in technic. Peugeot is still racing in hypercar today, in WEC, that could be something to build. But most importantly, peugeot got the 205 t16, which is a group b AND dakar legend, winning in both racing series, and, while not winning, also happened to race in pikes peak, with a 2,3,and 4th places. that small box is a monster .\_. Peugeot also happen to have the 406 v6, which is used in the taxi movies. Althought it may be a bit of a niche franchise, it would be really cool to see it on the shelves. may not be a sellout, but, it's a thing to try. And, regarding citroën, you have to get into WRC. the xsara WRC, driven by sebastien loeb, with 3 driver championship, and 3 constructor championship. ( we also need to talk about sebastien loeb, he's a beast.) the citroën c4 wrc, same old recipe, sébastien loeb, wrc, four drivers championship, three constructors championships. the citroën ds3 wrc, same old recipe, sebastien loeb, wrc, two driver championship, two constructors championship. And to finish it, the citroën zx rallye-raid, who dominated the WCC from 1993 to 1997, and won 4 times the daker. And to add to all that, i think the traction avant and the DS models would do really well in icons cars. that rant of chauvinism done, let's talk about jeep. Lately, lego added the jeep wrangler to the jurassic park line up. That may means they have the rights to use jeep outside of jurrassic park. A wrangler, or a rubicon could be cool. I would also like to address electric cars. Lego, in their city sets seems to be driven to electric cars, ( with batteries inside them) and they do looks a bit like teslas, i'll have to admit. Althought tesla do not have such a distinct identity, compared to the other brands lego can use, i would've said a few years ago that, for electric cars it would be a very good representation. Althought, we all know what happened with elon musk. .\_. But, i'm still hoping to get a lego cyber truck for the laugh. .\_. staying on electric cars, one that is completely in the speed champions spirit, AND as far as recorded isn't owned by a weirdo like musk, is the McMurty spéirling. You know, the car that can stay upside down at reste. And actually drive upside down. And actually annihilating records owned by thermic cars. .\_. To stay on cyber-things, and to continue on video games, i'll add to my wishlist the quadra turbo-R V-tech. lego already did grand turismo cars, i think cyberpunk can have it's part. I may doubt that lego will make it, since it's a pretty violent world. there's also the porsche 911 turbo cabriolet that could be done from the game. Shifting the focus to incorporate user-driven selective exposure could reveal other factors that influence information diversity and ideological slant and thereby enrich understanding of how echo chambers work in digital spaces. # Towards a unified model of echo chambers and information cocoons To address our research question, we first develop a conceptual differentiation between information cocoons and echo chambers. We present a model that illustrates how behavioral and social factors can lead to variation in information source consumption, resulting in the formation of either information cocoons or echo chambers. This process-based view offers two key advantages: (a) it conceptualizes the phenomenon through the lens of [information processing](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/psychology/information-processing) flow; and (b) by removing algorithmic filtering from the model, it allows us to consider the role of user agency in creating confined information environments. As illustrated in [Fig. 2](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#f0010), selection homophily and network homophily represent two pivotal forces influencing the [information sources](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/information-source) a user is exposed to. We begin by describing the processes that lead to the formation of information cocoons. Selection homophily underscores an individual’s selective consumption of information. Before the advent of recommender algorithms, the phenomenon of the individual’s selective information consumption was already evident. [Sunstein (2006)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885) described information cocoons as environments in which individuals lock themselves into “communication universes in which we only hear what we choose and only what comforts us and pleases us” ([Sunstein, 2006, p. 9](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885)). For instance, based on their preferences and research areas, people subscribe to magazines and select specific academic journals. This active consumption of homogenized information is corroborated by the principles of selective exposure ([Freedman & Sears, 1965](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0370)) and [cognitive dissonance](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/cognitive-dissonance) ([Festinger, 1962](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0345)) described in academic literature. Individuals show a bias for seeking information that reinforces preexisting opinions while disregarding contradictory information. Moreover, they display a preference for engaging with supportive content ([Sears & Freedman, 1967](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0845)), engage in impulsive information sharing ([Arendt et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0015)), and show information [avoidance behaviors](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/avoidance-behavior) ([Momsen & Ohndorf, 2022](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0680)). Selective exposure to confirmatory information frequently results in suboptimal decision outcomes, and the phenomenon may intensify in the context of the Internet ([Fischer & Greitemeyer, 2010](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0350)). In the contemporary era, individuals have access to vast amounts of information. While they tend to selectively consume information that aligns with their viewpoints, this [selectivity](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/selectivity) is also a practical response to information overload, not just a psychological tendency. This homophily of choice leads to information bias and narrowing, which further leads to individuals becoming siloed in information cocoons. Scholars have posited that even when individuals are exposed to diverse content on the Internet, it only sometimes leads to the consumption of varied perspectives. [Bakshy et al. (2015)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0045) [collected data](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/collected-data)from over 10 million American Facebook users and compared the news categories that users voluntarily read with the information presented to them through algorithms. Their findings indicate that users are more likely to consume information aligned with their existing viewpoints, leading the authors to conclude that homogenization was occurring. In short, users’ selective choices based on their points of view and interests are the driving force behind the formation of information cocoons. We now turn to the phenomenon of echo chambers. Following the occurrence of selective homophily driven by user choices, there arises the possibility of [dynamic group](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/group-behavior) homogeneity. Network homophily, established on the foundation of social interactions, may be fostered through interpersonal diffusion, facilitating the formation and interaction of homogeneous groups ([Flaxman et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0355), [Geiß et al., 2021](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0410), [Shore, et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0855)). The dissemination of homogenized information within these groups fosters homogeneous perspectives. For example, [Röchert et al. Journal of Strategic Information Systems June 2025](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198) # “Defining the problem context # The emergence of confined online information environments Before the advent of Internet-enabled personalization technology, confined online information environments like echo chambers and information cocoons began to take shape within social groups where homophily (the inclination to associate with like-minded individuals) led to a limited exposure to diverse viewpoints ([Colleoni et al., 2014](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0220)). As [Sunstein (2018)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0895) noted, this phenomenon led to confined online information environments where [shared values](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/shared-value) and communicative norms reinforced certain perspectives, making it difficult to bridge differing viewpoints. Our study builds on Sunstein’s foundational work, which highlights both the group-driven nature of echo chambers and the individual-driven creation of information cocoons ([Sunstein, 2001](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0880), [Sunstein, 2006](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885)). Traditional media played a significant role in fostering echo chambers by curating content tailored to specific audience demographics ([Prior, 2007](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0760)). Not only did this curation cater to the interests of particular groups, but it also contributed to a narrowed scope of information available to individuals, thus limiting the diversity of perspectives encountered ([Barberá, 2020](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0060)). The advent of social media intensified the debate over the effects of echo chambers ([Barberá, 2020](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0060)). Platforms use algorithms that learn and reinforce preferences to boost user engagement ([Gillespie, 2022](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0415), [Guess et al., 2018](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0445)), prompting content that aligns with existing beliefs ([Bakshy et al., 2015](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0045)). As highlighted by [Del Vicario et al. (2016)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0285) and elaborated on [Kitchens et al. (2020)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550), this self-reinforcing cycle of engagement can lead to confined online information environments where dissenting opinions are marginalized, limiting user exposure to alternative viewpoints. # The current conceptualization of confined online information environments and their limitations [Kitchens et al. (2020)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550) identified two constitutive characteristics of echo chambers. The first distinctive feature is the limited diversity of information stemming from constraints imposed on [information sources](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/agricultural-and-biological-sciences/information-source). This reduces the variety of perspectives available to individuals within echo chambers ([Bakshy et al., 2015](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0045), [Garrett, 2009a](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0395), [Kitchens et al., 2020](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550), [Shore, et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0855)). The second attribute of echo chambers is ideological segregation. This phenomenon amplifies the tendency for like-minded individuals to congregate and interact, fostering an environment that reinforces prevailing ideological viewpoints while constricting exposure to dissenting opinions ([Barberá et al., 2015](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0065), [Dubois et al., 2018](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0300), [Garrett, 2009a](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0395), [Kitchens et al., 2020](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550), [Shore, et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0855)). Consequently, [Kitchens et al. (2020)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550) proposed a general model that lays out the interplay among network homophily, algorithmic filtering, and individual behavioral responses to shape access to [information sources](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/information-source) ([Fig. 1](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#f0005)). The model emphasizes that network homophily, the natural tendency of individuals to associate with like-minded peers, forms the foundation. This homophily is exacerbated by algorithmic filtering, where [social media platforms](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/social-medium-platform) tailor content based on [user preferences](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/economics-econometrics-and-finance/user-preference). As a result, individuals are exposed primarily to information that resonates with their existing viewpoints. This curated content promotes individual behavioral responses, reinforcing the preference for similar information and further solidifying network homophily. (2020)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0550) offered a useful model for understanding the dynamics of echo chambers, a significant limitation was its emphasis on algorithmic filtering without fully addressing the role of selective [user behavior](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/user-behavior) ([Pandey et al., 2023](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0735)). By focusing predominantly on how algorithms shape [content exposure](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/psychology/content-exposure), the model overlooks the agency of users in actively seeking out information that aligns with their beliefs. The current focus on source diversity and source slant underemphasizes user-driven selective exposure, where individuals actively seek content that aligns with their beliefs, and how these intentional choices influence the information environment ([Jungherr, 2023](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0515), [Jungherr et al., 2023](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0520), [Jungherr et al., 2023](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0520)). Shifting the focus to incorporate user-driven selective exposure could reveal other factors that influence information diversity and ideological slant and thereby enrich understanding of how echo chambers work in digital spaces. # Towards a unified model of echo chambers and information cocoons To address our research question, we first develop a conceptual differentiation between information cocoons and echo chambers. We present a model that illustrates how behavioral and social factors can lead to variation in information source consumption, resulting in the formation of either information cocoons or echo chambers. This process-based view offers two key advantages: (a) it conceptualizes the phenomenon through the lens of [information processing](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/psychology/information-processing) flow; and (b) by removing algorithmic filtering from the model, it allows us to consider the role of user agency in creating confined information environments. As illustrated in [Fig. 2](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#f0010), selection homophily and network homophily represent two pivotal forces influencing the [information sources](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/information-source) a user is exposed to. We begin by describing the processes that lead to the formation of information cocoons. Selection homophily underscores an individual’s selective consumption of information. Before the advent of recommender algorithms, the phenomenon of the individual’s selective information consumption was already evident. [Sunstein (2006)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885) described information cocoons as environments in which individuals lock themselves into “communication universes in which we only hear what we choose and only what comforts us and pleases us” ([Sunstein, 2006, p. 9](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885)). For instance, based on their preferences and research areas, people subscribe to magazines and select specific academic journals. This active consumption of homogenized information is corroborated by the principles of selective exposure ([Freedman & Sears, 1965](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0370)) and [cognitive dissonance](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/cognitive-dissonance) ([Festinger, 1962](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0345)) described in academic literature. Individuals show a bias for seeking information that reinforces preexisting opinions while disregarding contradictory information. Moreover, they display a preference for engaging with supportive content ([Sears & Freedman, 1967](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0845)), engage in impulsive information sharing ([Arendt et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0015)), and show information [avoidance behaviors](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/avoidance-behavior) ([Momsen & Ohndorf, 2022](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0680)). As [Sunstein (2006)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0885) posited, information selection involves two primary categories: topics and viewpoints. The phenomenon of selective exposure to issues of interest is pervasive. To illustrate, vegetarians tend to prioritize news related to vegetarianism ([Lueders et al., 2022](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0620)), and owners of a specific car brand are more inclined to view marketing [advertisements](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/social-sciences/advertising)for that brand ([Sunstein, 2017](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0890)). Selective exposure to confirmatory information frequently results in suboptimal decision outcomes, and the phenomenon may intensify in the context of the Internet ([Fischer & Greitemeyer, 2010](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0350)). In the contemporary era, individuals have access to vast amounts of information. While they tend to selectively consume information that aligns with their viewpoints, this [selectivity](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/selectivity) is also a practical response to information overload, not just a psychological tendency. This homophily of choice leads to information bias and narrowing, which further leads to individuals becoming siloed in information cocoons. Scholars have posited that even when individuals are exposed to diverse content on the Internet, it only sometimes leads to the consumption of varied perspectives. [Bakshy et al. (2015)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0045) [collected data](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/collected-data)from over 10 million American Facebook users and compared the news categories that users voluntarily read with the information presented to them through algorithms. Their findings indicate that users are more likely to consume information aligned with their existing viewpoints, leading the authors to conclude that homogenization was occurring. In short, users’ selective choices based on their points of view and interests are the driving force behind the formation of information cocoons. We now turn to the phenomenon of echo chambers. Following the occurrence of selective homophily driven by user choices, there arises the possibility of [dynamic group](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/group-behavior) homogeneity. Network homophily, established on the foundation of social interactions, may be fostered through interpersonal diffusion, facilitating the formation and interaction of homogeneous groups ([Flaxman et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0355), [Geiß et al., 2021](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0410), [Shore, et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0855)). During user-prompted interpersonal communication, individuals seek out others with viewpoints that align with their own ([Shore et al., 2016](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0855)). This can manifest in various contexts, like daily face-to-face interactions or mutual attraction in online settings. Individuals with congruent viewpoints aggregate and form multiple distinct groups. The dissemination of homogenized information within these groups fosters homogeneous perspectives. For example, [Röchert et al. (2022)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0790)found that in online conspiracy communities, there is a high level of homogeneity in discussions among advocates of these theories. In another study of [online discussions](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/online-discussions) about public events, [Strauß et al. (2020)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0865) found a [positive correlation](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/positive-correlation) between the frequency of discussions and the level of homogeneity within the group. Furthermore, heterogeneity between online groups tends to increase. In the context of technology-mediated social interactions, the role of technology is amplified, serving as a potent force in driving [information dissemination](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/information-dissemination). One such influence is [collaborative recommendation](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/collaborative-recommendation)technology, which plays a crucial role in content recommendation. Notably, even users who do not exhibit pronounced viewpoint biases may be exposed to a high frequency of supportive information related to a particular stance. This phenomenon can be attributed to the impact of social algorithms as described by [Lazer (2015)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0963868725000198#b0575). In conclusion, the subjectivity of user preferences enables the construction of personalized, homogenized information environments – referred to as *information cocoons*. Both user-initiated interpersonal diffusion and social interactions demonstrate the existence of perspective heterogeneity between groups and homogeneity within groups. User preferences for homogenized choices can result in echo chambers through iterative dissemination of homogeneous information in [human interactions](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/human-interaction), which can, over time, lead to the emergence of identifiable information cocoons.” A write up about [Echo Chambers in Science? Individuals affected by this belief system congregate in online fora to seek support, share experiences, and interact with other like-minded individuals. So it was on me I didn't research and realized the service I was purchasing was unavailable on my platform. Was fine I asked for a refund. Because my money was still "safe"/order not done. Got it. Pretty crazy that he's still able to do the stuff that he does at his age. I always found it odd that he was never in the Jimmyz' biggest matches as a unit despite being one of the main guys to hold gold for them. Hey everyone, I’m in a tough spot right now and hoping someone here can provide some advice or share their experiences. I’ve encountered a situation with a customer, and I’m feeling totally lost without any clear answers. Here’s what happened: I worked with a customer who confirmed their order, and I completed it just as promised. After receiving the order, the customer requested a refund, which I couldn’t provide because I had already invested real money to fulfill the order. The customer then threatened to reverse the payment through their bank, which they probably did. I reached out to the platform during the dispute, and surprisingly, the decision went in my favor. I thought everything was resolved, but now I’m facing ongoing issues, and I haven’t received a clear explanation of what happened. I’ve tried reaching out a few times, and I was told the customer **no longer had access** to their account after confirming and receiving the order. The customer confirmed the order, received it, then deleted their account and proceeded with a payment reversal. It feels incredibly frustrating because I did everything I was supposed to do, yet the situation is still unresolved. I got banned for smurfing, and my new account had a higher ELO than my main one. There’s no logic to this. Plus, the new account which is a shit account from [eldorado.gg](http://eldorado.gg) got a 7-day temporary ban, while my main account, which I haven’t played on in a year, got a permanent ban. The second issue is that I emailed Faceit to report my problem. I received an automated copy-and-paste response, which I consider to be completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

None of this matters if you can’t get out of the bot infested silver bronze lobbies riot needs to fix lower ranks it’s terrible climbing impossible to improve you would have to spend 500 hours just getting out of bronze unless you are a Gm+ and can just solo carry I guess. Problem down in those ranks is half the games are bots soon to be eldorado.gg accounts for $5. And the rest are people who don’t care so leave in 4 minutes. Which means anyone stuck dealing with these games can only handle a couple then get off then back on and deal with it all over again the next day. It’s literally the worst. You have to commit endless time to get past all the bots and alt f4ers in lower ranks.

So I wanted to sell my Valorant account, and the user in the 2nd picture reached out to me. They added me to a “middleman” Discord server that looked completely legit. They were using the real "Eldorado.gg" name (which is actually a real website), linked the actual Trustpilot page, and everything checked out when I searched it up, so I assumed it was the real thing. The Discord server itself even had quite a few members and looked very real, which made it even more convincing. Turns out it was a fake middleman setup made to scam people. It was around 8AM and I wasn’t fully thinking it through, so I went ahead with it. They asked for a €25 “middleman fee,” which didn’t seem crazy for that kind of service, so I paid. After that, they asked for my Riot login to proceed with the deal. As soon as I gave it, they changed my account details and locked me out, and I was instantly blocked. Right after, I even got a message from a bot telling me to scam others (“hitting”). I refused, and they banned me from the server. Now the good part: after about 48 hours, Riot Games support recovered my account successfully, and I also reported the payment and got my money back through PayPal. Overall, bad experience, but at least I ended up with both my account and money back. Just putting this out there. I won't ever do a "middleman" deal. For me it’s a scam, no matter how legit it looks.

So I got scammed for my chroma snowcannon, evergun, and sunrise set. I was getting offered like 7 items. So he proposed a middle man and showed me a discord server, it had over 90k members and I looked through the vouches and it had so many vouches, it was ridiculous. So it seemed legit. But I ended getting scammed for like 13k value. I’m pretty mad about it. At Eldorado, developers sometimes, about once every 2-3 months, enable Cloudflare for some reason. Cloudflare itself is harmless for buyers and sellers, except that it forces the page to reload every 10-20 minutes, which can be annoying. But the only real problem is that the Seller API is located on the [eldorado.gg](http://eldorado.gg) domain and doesn't have any other unique domain. When Cloudflare is enabled, the API simply stops working. I proposed creating separate endpoints for the API and the store in 2025, and not combining them, but I was apparently ignored.

Hey all, Posting this since Eldorado support wasn’t helpful. Long story short I have been buying accounts for quite some time, normally from sellers i already know on discord. Few days ago decides to Buy an account for $3k on eldorado gg, changed all details (email, country, name, phone), added 2FA, and even spent another $500 in-game. 3 days after, I’m locked out— and i have no way to communicate with the seller, not to mention theres no chat system on eldorado which is fking ridiciouls. Contacted support on eldorado GG expecting protection from their “guarantee,” that i paid for. but it’s basically useless, doesnt exist. No refund, no real help. After talking to some reputable and experienced people in the business also appears these sites make withdrawaling very difficult and theres a lof of complaints of people getting their money stuck in there. From this experience and talking to others: Heres what i understood and its the actual reality when buying anything for games: \- No one but the seller can guarantee the safety and guarantee of the accounts. Sites are simply a way sellers have to promote and advertise their accounts/items. \- Sites like eldorado proofit from fees they take from these illusionary guarantees that dont actually exist. Proofit also comes from using their payment gateway which they take a RIDICIOULS fee from aswell. What makes these sites trusted are the sellers. \- Sellers go through verification seller system before they can post, therefore not any random individual can simply advertise there. If sellers werent legit and trusted, these sites would be filled with sketchy people. Conclusion: NEVER buying from eldorado GG again and will just stick to buying from sellers itself that can provide me support, after all they are the owners not the sites. Sellers have reputation and are verified for some reason Stop giving fees to these fee sucking, offering illusionary guarantees that never happen. Remember, they are a business, not a charity. If you dont trust the seller, dont buy and account. Simple as that. STAY WOKE PEOPLE!!
