I worked in medical devices for 12 years then I taught for about eight and got back into medical devices and did some medical writing. I was advised to create a résumé minimizing all of my classroom teaching experience and emphasizing my business experience in regulated, corporate environments. I have to respectfully disagree about sales training because it’s unlikely you would be hired to teach others how to sell if you have never sold the product and most people believe anyone can teach, which is not true, but that’s the prevailing belief. Can you talk to engineers??? yes and that’s what they want. After polishing myself and my résumé, I worked another 10 years for medical device manufacturers directly or through contract organizations like kelly OCG.
