If you didn’t already have something in place, there’s no real way to go back and accurately verify those hours now tools like Hubstaff or Monitask only track from the moment they’re installed, so retroactive proof just isn’t a thing. In such situations it comes down to whatever logs you do have O365 activity, emails, commits, file changes etc. and whether there’s any actual output to support the claim. For the future it might be worth putting a lightweight tracker not even for micromanaging, but just to avoid these kinds of disputes. Something simple that logs active time or app usage can save a lot of back-and-forth later. You could look at something like KeepActive prev Kickidler for tracking activity and work hours, gives you detailed logs and even screen history. Might be overkill depending on how strict you want to go though. If you just need basic tracking something lighter like Hubstaff might be easier to roll out.

Yeah, I get this completely. Toggle, KeepActive(Kickidler),Clockify, Harvest these are employee monitoring software for a team and company. Designed with teams in mind, so as an individual user too much. Over time, I’ve realized I naturally stick to tools that stay out of the way and just let me track hours by project without overcomplicating things.For me, simple always wins. If I need more features later, fine but I don’t want them forced on me from the start.

What your company is doing falls under employee monitoring which has become more common with remote and hybrid work. I worked for a software company where they implemented KeepActive prev called Kickidler to keep the time track, deadline on time and all the things related to increasing productivity. When I asked my TL he was happy using such tools as it managed the work flow and productivity but some employees have different prospects.

Viel Spaß, da suchste LANGE. Hatte damals in meinen 6 Monaten drüben "Hubstaff" auf dem Rechner, war zwar angeblich nur auf Zeiterfassung geschaltet, aber würde mich nicht wundern, wenn da ein ganzes Tracking mitlief, können würde die Software das nämlich. Hab wohl zumindest genug gearbeitet, dass sich niemand beschwert hat.
ActivTrak, Teramind, Time Doctor, Insightful, Kickidler und Hubstaff sind die gängisten, die mir auf die Schnelle einfallen.

I’ve tried a few workforce intelligence tools, and they each offer different levels of insight beyond basic time tracking. Time Champ is useful for understanding workload and productivity trends, while Timely makes things easier with automatic time capture. Clockodo is also a good lightweight option for small teams that want simple project-based tracking. Using Kickidler now called KeepActive, which provides detailed visibility into team activity and productivity and as well monitoring insights depending on how deep you want the analytics to go.
